Audio books vs reading reddit12/24/2023 ![]() ![]() Now don't get me wrong, I know the medium is incredibly different than actual reading. The whole time, I'm absorbed in a book that I don't have to sit down to love. I drive up to 2 hours a day, work for 10 of those, and I get home and clean and do laundry. Since then, I've listened to a half dozen books a month, more than I've had the chance to in years. Until one day I got hooked on an audiobook. I used to read all the time, but working 12 hour days plus school made it so I did have the time. My job is very mindless, so I listen to audiobooks not just because it helps quell the boredom, but because I love to read. All audiobooks automatically come with the eBook at no cost. Just make sure to grab them quickly because as books get more popular, Scribl's CrowdPricing model puts a price on them.īecause Scribl has other things, too, like eBooks and podcasts, you want to make sure to filter the results to only show audiobooks. However, I've included it here because you might find unique books that aren't free anywhere else. It's really a hit-or-miss type of situation when you look for free audio eBooks here. Scribl is a very different audiobook website because while there are some free audiobooks, most of them come at a cost. Difficult to find just the free audiobooks. ![]()
