It takes a lot of energy to be hyperactive, and as a guy in his 40s, I can’t maintain that, right? But impulsivity and the ups and downs of emotional dysregulation can persist. Wilfahrt, M.D., a family medicine physician at Mayo Clinic, is an expert on ADHD. Today, experts believe only 1 out of 8 children truly outgrows the condition. In the past, it was thought that most kids outgrew attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). But what happens when those kids become adults? When you think about ADHD, you probably think about high-energy kids who need extra help in school.

T blake nelson12/25/2023 I don’t think we’ve seen even the beginning of what’s going to happen with lawsuits in every industry, and in the movie industry, in which we depend so much on social interaction throughout the day and exposure of the self in a physically and emotionally vulnerable way. Otherwise, the liability concerns are just too great. Productions have to be more oriented now toward single, controllable locations, or stage work. That’s quite obvious, because you can’t just go willy-nilly to any location you’d like. I think the pandemic will have a dramatic impact on production in the near term, so much so that certain productions and types of productions simply won’t happen until there’s a vaccine. How do you think the pandemic will affect film production? In a previous interview, we spoke a little about your impression of how streaming services are changing the way films are made and viewed. I probably will be safer there than in Manhattan. Just the nature of the story has it pretty much within a very discrete and quarantine-able location, so I’m quite comfortable with it. They’re gonna have a dedicated COVID-19 ombudsman on set at all times. I feel in very good hands with these guys. They’ve been able to continue with that, while also now folding in protocols for COVID-19 that meet federal government standards, Arkansas government standards, and then go well beyond them. They were mainly detailing their work to begin shooting in May. The filmmakers have been building this town for about a year, so many of the sets were already built in terms of the structure. This is a peculiar project, in that it takes place in a walled-in town. How did you decide whether it was safe to go work on something now? You can find answers to the most common questions in the links below:Įverything you need to know about the coronavirusĬoronavirus, explained: Evidence-based explanations of the coronavirus crisisĩ questions about the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak, answered To help educate our readership, we’ve compiled helpful explanations from our sibling sites The Verge and Vox.com. The spread of the novel coronavirus and the disease it causes, COVID-19, has unfortunately been characterized by an abundance of misinformation about the virus and xenophobia pertaining to its origins. I’m about to do a movie in Arkansas, which is going to be one of the first films to start shooting after the lockdowns.Ĭoronavirus/COVID-19: What you need to know It’s been very useful to have this time to write. I’ve been working on that since the beginning of last summer. It’s not so different, other than that my wife and I usually go to restaurants now and again, the boys and I will go to a movie or museum, and we haven’t done any of that. I’m in my office writing by about 8:30, and I write all day with a lunch break, usually with my oldest son who’s home from college and is studying remotely between here and Ohio, and then break to make dinner and either read or watch a movie with my wife or the boys at night. Other than that, I still wake up at the same time, get the boys up on alternating days with my wife. My wife deals with the laundry and our bedroom, and the boys’ rooms, when she can get in there. The way we’ve divvied up responsibilities in our home, I do a majority of the cooking and I make sure the kitchen is always clean - and that’s not always easy with three boys. Strangely, my routine is not altered at all, except that I do a lot more housework right now. So your routine hasn’t changed significantly? Luckily, because we’ve remained out of the range of the virus, it has been a very uneventful quarantine, other than spending more time with one another than we normally would. I’m happy we did that, because it feels right for us to be here, where the boys are being raised. We’ve elected to remain in New York City. Tim Blake Nelson: I’m with my wife and my three sons, and feel very lucky that we’re all healthy.

Sour tart in spanish12/25/2023 They are simply part of relaxed social gatherings, where you set out tequila bottles on a table along with Squirt (and maybe an alternative of Topo Chico mineral water and a few limes to make a Ranch Water) for self-service. And that’s what makes it so great.” It’s rare to find a paloma listed on a bar menu in Mexico. At its core, it’s just tequila and Squirt. There’s nothing complicated about the paloma. The classic Mexican Paloma is much simpler:Ģ ounces tequila, (recommended: reposado and 1 to 3 ounces) An even better version is to sub the lime for elderflower liqueur and the tequila for gin. With the leftovers you can make another batch or a slew of other summertime drinks, like a Margarita or Siesta. If your home bar needs restocking, consider Pueblo Viejo for blanco tequila and Sombra or Vida for mezcal. For the alcohol base, tequila is more common, but mezcal also works. This paloma recipe swaps grapefruit soda for fresh juice and club soda, which allows you to rein in the sweetness as you please. To serve a paloma in its simplest form, a host may choose to leave out bottles of tequila, grapefruit-flavored soda like Squirt or Jarritos, and lime wedges and allow guests to pour their own. The Spanish name la paloma translates to “the dove” (and perhaps making one will bring you some peace), but some posit the origin of the drink’s name is related to the similar-sounding pomelo, Spanish for grapefruit and the flavor at the heart of the drink. The paloma is the epitome of a no-fuss summer cocktail: The iconic Mexican drink balances sweet, sour, and salty notes, packs a boozy punch, and comes together in just a minute or two.

My time zone florida12/25/2023 The vote saw overwhelming support and virtually no debate. With panhandle opposition out of the way, the legislature easily passed the “Sunshine Protection Act” to make Daylight Savings time permanent in the state. For all intents and purposes, Franklin’s population is entirely in the eastern time zone. While the western time zone seems to creep into Franklin County, that portion is uninhibited and actually a region that was originally part of Gulf bet ceded to Franklin. It seems unlikely that split will be resolved, as unification of the time zones would only anger one part of the county. The two halves of Gulf both seem to want to remain in their time zone (and get the other side to adopt there time). The article does mention that when a referendum was held in the 1980s, eastern time zone was preferred. There was a local push in 2009 to hold a referendum on the issue, but other than this article I find no records of a public vote taking place. The lines follow an old river and surveys from decades ago. Joe in line with its coastal neighbors in Franklin County. Northern, more rural Gulf county is in the western time Zone, while coastal Gulf is in eastern time zone. Indeed the county has been split since the early 1900s. If look closing at the Florida Time Zone map, you will notice Gulf County is not entirely in one time zone. By dropping the unified time provision, it ensured the NW panhandle would only be 1 hour ahead of Alabama in the winter. Local officials and businesses did not like the idea of a two-hour time difference with Alabama in the winter months. These voters commute and deal with the Alabama media market and sharing their time zone makes sense. However, the proposal met fierce opposition from the three state senators who have constituents in the central time zone. Currently the Northwestern panhandle is in central time. The original Senate bill would have also united Florida under one time zone. The time zone map would like this during the winter (map via Practical Tangent ) The legislation would put Florida in the Atlantic Time Zone, an hour ahead of the east, for the winter and early spring months. However, the real issue that seemed to get far less attention was what the effects of the change would be on Florida’s relationship with the rest of the eastern time zone. Opponents cite children waiting for school buses in the dark as well as morning commutes. Proponents of the plan to make this permanent in Florida cite potential benefits to tourism with an extended amount of light in the evening. When clocks are turned back in October, it gets darker earlier and lighter earlier. The effect of daylight savings time (when clocks are turned forward in March) is daylight lasting longer into the evening and it remaining darker later into the morning. The measure, if implemented, would mean Florida would not turn its clocks back in October. This has been used since 2007.In the final weeks of Florida’s Legislative Session, lawmakers took up a proposal by State Senator Greg Steube that would make daylight savings time permanent in Florida. Submit tv pilot12/25/2023 ONE PARAGRAPH OF TASTY DESCRIPTION SETTING OUT THE WORLD: This is what your Producer/Commissioner will keep referring to in your conversation about the drama and its future development. You need to convey the main narrative here – the set up, the jeopardy or challenge for your protagonist and to give a sense of style and tone by the way you word this. In a small paragraph a cluster of lines 3 – 6 maximum (otherwise it’s a pitch paragraph, not a logline!) summarise your idea as succinctly and entertainingly as you can. Here in your treatment you state how long your series or serial is x 3/4/6/8 parts or is it a series of 13 or more parts? LOGLINE: For example: ‘Shetland’ ‘Doctor Foster’ ‘My Big Fat Teenage Diary’ ‘Peaky Blinders’ ‘The Unforgotten’. A core cast of returning characters and an over arching storyline, but in this case the storyline is ultimately resolved. Serial: A drama of more than two parts with a strong serial element. There may be several stories per episode which are resolved, but the series storyline, that which is carried by the core returning cast, remains open.įor example: ‘Call The Midwife’ ‘Coronation Street’ ‘Downton Abbey’ ‘The Unforgotten’ ‘Holby City’. The backdrop remains the same and is returned to each week. These are the definitions that describe my working day and most of my television career in drama production. Sometimes it’s better that the title describes what’s in the tin, so to speak eg: ‘The Bodyguard’ or, to take an example of a show for CITV that I Produced ‘My Dad’s A Boring Nerd’. Make yours really sell your idea by being the best you can make it. Here is my easy to assimilate, Go To approach to writing the definitive tv Treatment. I write about this and lots of other writing related things in my book Writing for Television Series, Serials and Soaps but I will add the condensed elements of what makes a great Treatment and how to write one here. Do not write a word unless it holds its weight. Remember – we are cash rich but time poor. Any more and we are getting into short film territory and that is not where Producers of tv want to be. The Treatments I help my writers write are all under 10 pages. And often, the first thing I talk to my writers about is the Treatment of their idea. Writers come to me not only to help fix the script they’re stuck on, but to also raise the bar of their writing in general. Now, I work with writers one on one via my Script Consultancy. I have worked with many, many writers throughout my career, as a Script Editor on EastEnders, amongst other great long runners and then as a Producer of Holby City and other popular series formats. There’s so much going on here: the characters, the world they live in, the story itself and are you actually saying something that people will want to engage with? How do you highlight the bits that are working in your tv idea and those that aren’t? Is there enough story? What are you actually trying to say? How do you control all these elements? You’ve had a brilliant one which has to be for television – there’s a series here you know it, but the sheer weight of the story, the abundance of characters, the complexity of this world you are creating is overwhelming.
